Caps, FC Platinum share spoils

Caps United and FC Platinum shared the spoils after playing out a 1 all draw in an exciting match up at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Both sides had huge opportunities of opening the scoring with an impressive Phineas Bamusi embarking on a darting run down the left hand channel before sending in a cross which was headed just wide by Rodwell Chinyengetere.

In the 33rd minute Juan Mutudza almost grabbed an opener but was denied by Tonderayi Mateyaunga whose stunning reflex saw him parry a goal bound header onto the bar.

Caps United would however open the scoring in the 41st minute when Godknows Murwira delivered a perfect corner which was headed home by William Manondo much to the delight of Caps United fans.

With the game having gone to the break with Caps United leading 1 nil, the visitors had it all to do in the second stanza.

William Manondo could have doubled the lead in the 46th minute but was unable to find the back of the net after finding himself in a promising position inside the box.

FC Platinum would however grab an equaliser late on when Walter Musona beat the off-side trap before sending in a pin point ball which was hammered home by a well positioned Perfect Chikwende in the 86th minute as the two rivals settled for a point each.
